Malekula is the second-largest island in the South Pacific Island nation of Vanuatu, and the wild cacao trees are descendants of the original Amelonado trees introduced in the early 1800s. Amelonado is prized for its deep & rich classic cacao flavors. These beans are expertly fermented and dried by husband and wife team Roy & Lily Buktan, who drive around the island in their truck collecting wet cacao from local farmers.
