Produits des Iles Sa (PISA) opened their centralized processing facility in 2014, ushering in a revolutionary shift in the Haitian cacao industry, bringing the first high-quality Haitian cacao to the U.S. market. PISA collaborated with farmers through private sector innovation to provide them with what they truly needed: pricing transparency, a consistent market, and risk elimination. PISA continues to provide smallholder farmers with access to the specialty cacao market by purchasing wet cacao, centrally fermenting it, and selling it at a higher price due to its higher quality.
