Description
Flores de la Selva cacao grows deep in the Amazon rainforest, close to the head of the Orinoco River, where the heirloom cacao strains are found. The part of the rainforest situated in Venezuela is also notable because its cacao is not yet represented in the International Cocoa Genebank, located in Trinidad. To this day, the genetic affiliation of Amazonas cacao has not been fully determined, but it is believed to be a wild forastero. A rare find!
