Description
A single-variety extra virgin olive oil from Puglia made from Picholine olives. It is characterized by its medium intensity and herbal clarity.
Craft & Origin
Frantoio Scisci grows these Picholine trees in the coastal groves of Monopoli. While Picholine is a French variety, it thrives in the Mediterranean climate of Puglia. The olives are picked at the start of the harvest and processed within hours at the family mill. Using a temperature controlled, 2-phase extraction method, Scisci marries the best of Puglian tradition with state-of-the-art technology, creating an oil that is not only aromatic and delicious, but one that maintains a low acidity and extremely high levels of polyphenols and other antioxidants. All of the nuance and aroma of each variety is perfectly captured for you to enjoy every time you open a bottle.
Flavor & Texture
Notes of arugula, radicchio, aromatic herbs, and green grass, it is an elegant and complex oil with pleasant bitter and spiciness.
How to Use
Use as a finishing oil for seafood, roasted vegetables, or citrus based dressings.
